That’s the kind of news we break here on TBOH: The obvious kind, that’s already been broken somewhere else, first.

Don’t be the only guy with kindergarten-level maturity not dancing to this thing.

The Phillies only get the Angel Hernandez Experience, rather than the Blue Cowboy & Friends Carnival of Twisted Screwjobs that went down at least four or five times a season before their divorce.

If the Reading Phillies were a guy, they’d be the one who is somehow equal parts bad-ass and take-home-to-meet-parents-ass. And that guy hardly exists.

Phillies fans, it’s often said, are dangerous enough when they aren’t moving slowly on a large, electrified metal structure.  The idea to hold the 2011 Playoffs Pep Rally on a trolley hasn’t been proven a bad idea, but that may be because it happened yet. With the win Charlie Manuel became the Phillies all time winningest manager. Congratulations Charlie. It is impressive that you have won this many games when it is very possible that no one on your team knows what the hell you are saying.

Apparently the Phillies wanted the affable yet unintelligible Manuel. It seemed that Jim Thome and Charlie were sort of a package deal. The Phillies got both. Fast forward to 2011. Charlie has a world series championship and has achieved cult hero status in Philly.

 ”Phillies paused to let others catch up a bit, lost eight in a row for 1st time in 11 years, and still are first team to 100 wins.” –David O’Brien, Atlanta Journal-Constitution Always refreshing to receive alarmed recognition of glory in an enemy’s chief publication.  So go ahead, Atlanta, and be in awe of the Phillies.  I kind of have been too.  Mainly because of how awful they’ve looked.

Now, I am witnessing them win more than any other team in baseball. They bested the Braves 4-2 tonight to reach the 100 win plateau for the first time since 1977.
