Game 2: Aaron Nola vs Trevor Richards

Aaron Nola (PHI): Nola will be making his final start before heading to Washington for the All-Star Game. Coming into game two, the Baton Rogue-native is 12-2 and has a 2.27 ERA this season for the Phillies.

In his lone start against Miami this year, Nola pitched 7.1 shutout innings. He racked up seven strikeouts while only walking one batter on four hits. If that isn’t all-star worthy, what is?

Trevor Richards (MIA): Making his major league debut in June of this year, Richards certainly isn’t having the season he wanted so far. His 5.24 ERA this season is surprisingly one of the lowest out of the Miami Marlins rotation.

In his last seven starts, the young right-hander is 2-3 with a 5.45 ERA and twenty nine strikeouts.

Richard’s one start against Philadelphia didn’t go well at all. He lasted four innings and allowed three runs on six hits against Philadelphia in April.
