Game 3: Zach Eflin vs Jose Urena

Zach Eflin (PHI): Twenty-four-year-old righty Zach Eflin is having an outstanding season so far for the Phillies, and some might say it was all-star worthy. Coming into the final game of the first half, Zach Eflin is 7-2 with a 3.15 ERA and 67 strikeouts.

In his last seven starts, he has won six of them while being charged with a no-decision. In his last start, Eflin faced the Mets and lasted five innings and allowed three runs on five hits.

He has only faced the Marlins one time this season, which would be his first start of the 2018 season. He pitched six complete innings and only allowed one earned run on three hits. Unfortunately, it was a no-decision for the former first rounder.

José Ureña (MIA): The Marlins ace hasn’t been performing well this season, as have the other starters in the rotation. Ureña has only two wins this season and a compiled 4.13 ERA.

Over 104.2 innings pitched, he has only 85 strikeouts and a 1.19 WHIP. He has only faced the Phillies one time this season in May.

On that May 2 start, the Phillies completely destroyed Ureña. Despite only allowing one run in seven innings and striking out seven batters, he was charged with a loss as the Phillies were able to overcome the Marlins.
