The Phillies head to Miami to face the Marlins for a three-game series.

The first half of the 2018 baseball season is coming to an end this weekend. The Phillies and Marlins go head-to-head for three games for the final time in the first half.

Here’s everything you need to know about this series.

Game 1: Jake Arrieta vs Wei-Yin Chen

Jake Arrieta (PHI): The thirty-two-year-old right-hander looks to make his eighteenth start this season. The veteran hasn’t been having the season he’s been hoping for, and he looks to close out the first half with a bang against the Marlins Friday night.

Entering game one, he is 6-6 this season and has a 3.47 ERA. His last start, which was against the Pittsburgh Pirates, had many fans questioning his motive in joining Philadelphia. He was able to turn it around and got his sixth win of the season.

Arrieta has started against Miami twice this season. In two starts, Arrieta is 0-1 against Miami this season.

Wei-Yin Chen (MIA): In his third season with Miami, the Taiwan-native looks to close out the first half with a win. This season, the southpaw is 2-6 and a high 6.14 ERA. Chen went head-to-head with the Nationals in his last start earlier this month. In that start, he pitched 4.1 innings and allowed seven runs on seven hits.

That start didn’t go well and he picked up his sixth loss of the year. He has yet to get a win in the month of July.

Chen has not faced Philadelphia this season.
