The Philadelphia Phillies are in the middle of some of the most winning they've ever had in their long history as a franchise. The club is now looking to make it five-straight winning seasons and four straight trips to the postseason. Before the recent winning commenced, they brought home their two World Series rings, most recently in 2008. Now the team is looking for their third championship and second in their great home of Citizens Bank Park.
The stadium’s inaugural season was in 2004 and coincided with the beginning of a winning culture. That followed with a parade down Broad Street just four years later. "The Bank" was a beautiful sight then and one that the new version of the team wants to experience for themselves. In a recent review, there may be no other ballpark better to experience than the one in South Philadelphia.
USA Today ranks Citizens Bank Park as the best ballpark in the majors
Voted as No. 1 of the best MLB stadiums according to USA Today, Citizens Bank Park is a sight to behold every time you visit the sports complex, and that's not without reason. The lower level concourse provides a variety of food and drink options, with new menus being introduced constantly.
One of the spots in the ballpark that has the best restaurants is in Ashburn Alley, named after legendary outfielder Richie Ashburn. In the spot where a 10-foot statue commemorating Ashburn stands, they offer Manco & Manco Pizza, Chickie‘s & Pete’s, Tony Luke’s and many more. Crab fries are always a crowd favorite in Philadelphia and Citizens Bank Park has an array of vendors scattered around that have them on offer.
The Phillies' New Era Team Store, which will be getting even better, has also been a staple for years and always has the latest and greatest gear the team has to offer. Hundreds and even thousands, at times, flood the store all game long with fans leaving with all the merchandise they can possibly need. Fans also have the option of going to the 47 Alley Store located off Ashburn Alley for additional memorabilia.
Once fans have a chance to sit down with an assortment of food, refreshments and merchandise, the aesthetics of the ballpark truly set in. The beautiful view of downtown Philadelphia beyond center field along with the flags proudly flying is the perfect setting for a baseball game. The updated 13,072 square-foot PhanaVision is the perfect touch to show all the great highlights and activities throughout the nine innings of play.
The green ivy that hangs on the center field batter’s eye is another great sight of the ballpark. At times, it turns into a range-finder for some of the biggest sluggers the Phillies have had over the years. Even with all those things, there has been one thing that makes the Phillies and Citizens Bank Park truly different than any other ballpark in baseball and it’s the giant 52-foot liberty bell hanging in center field. Hearing the sound of it ring with a mammoth home run or a Phillies win is always the best sound in the world.
Fans always believe their home ballpark is the best, but with the passion of Phillies fans paired with the amenities of the 21-year-old wonder, it really makes Citizens Bank Park No.1.
