With the MLB regular season now less than a month away, the Philadelphia Phillies have released new additions to their promotional schedule, with some exciting news fans are sure to love.
However, one change that fans won't like is the removal of the popular Dollar Dog Nights, a promotion that has been running for 27 years. Instead, the Phillies announced Hatfield Phillies Franks BOGO Nights on Tuesday, April 2 versus the Cincinnati Reds and Tuesday, April 16 against the Colorado Rockies, when fans can get two dogs for the price of one ($5).
Per Matt Breen of The Philadelphia Inquirer, the Phillies chose to switch the hot dog promotion after hot dog throwing incidents and congested concourses last season. Per the team's press release, the change, "... is based on the organization’s ongoing commitment to provide a positive experience for all fans in attendance."
Phillies add new giveaways to 2024 promotional schedule
Now for some good news.
The Phillies will open their season on March 28 at Citizens Bank Park against the Atlanta Braves, and there were already some great giveaways scheduled, which we covered in our first rundown of the full promotional schedule. As we already know, fans attending Opening Day can get themselves a Phillies Opening Day scarf, while those heading to the second game of the season will receive a McDonald’s Opening Night Phillies T-Shirt.
Newly added to the Opening Weekend festivities, fans attending the Sunday 1:35 p.m. ET game can get themselves a 2024 Schedule Magnet presented by Valley Forge Tourism.
The team also added a Miller Lite Floppy Hat giveaway for fans 21 and over on Thursday, Aug. 15 against the Washington Nationals at 6:40 p.m. ET.
As part of the GIANT Family Day on Sunday, Sept. 15, versus the New York Mets, the team will have Phanatic Lunch Bags for children 14 years and younger. There will be a block party and more activities before game time.
New London Series giveaways announced
With the Phillies heading to England for the 2024 London Series this summer, the team has introduced a pair of London-themed giveaways.
The first is a Double Decker Bus presented by SEI for children 14 years and under on Saturday, June 1 against the St. Louis Cardinals. The second is Sunglasses presented by SEI for all fans on Wednesday, June 5 when Rhys Hoskins and his Milwaukee Brewers are in town.
