After an exciting offseason, the Phillies finally begin their season Thursday afternoon against the Braves. Here’s how you can watch.

The Phillies are officially back! After a disappointing end to the 2018 season and a grueling offseason, Opening Day is finally here.

Thanks to the improvements made by the team during the winter, the club appears ready to make their first legitimate playoff run in almost a decade.

Here is how you can watch the opening of what should be an exciting season:

Philadelphia is assuredly looking to start the season off better than they did last year. That was when manager Gabe Kapler infamously pulled Nola after just 5.1 innings as he was cruising. The bullpen went on to lose the game for the team, capped off by Hector Neris surrendering a walk-off home run to Nick Markakis.

Winning this game will be especially important for the division race. The Braves are one of the main teams Philadelphia will have to contend with for the NL East crown. The race will likely come down to just a few games, so getting every win possible against the Braves is key.

What should help matters is a raucous, energetic stadium. After the signing of Bryce Harper was reported, demand for tickets skyrocketed. Opening Day, and possibly even the whole series, could be sold out. That would be a marked change from previous years and should be exciting for all those in attendance.

Pregame festivities will begin about 40 minutes before first pitch is scheduled. The team will make their “Leadoff Walk” onto the field at 2:26, with introductions coming at 2:40. Philadelphia’s official website has the full schedule events for the day for those who will be attending the game.
