The Phillies landed eight prospects on Fangraphs’ updated top 100 prospect list, which was the second-most of any team in MLB.

Yet another mid-season prospect list was released Thursday, this time by Eric Longenhagen of Fangraphs. This list features eight Phillies prospects, which is the second-most of any team besides Philadelphia’s NL East rival, the Atlanta Braves, who have nine on the list.

The eight Phils prospects appear in the following order:

"34. J.P. Crawford, SS47. Sixto Sanchez, RHP59. Mickey Moniak, OF68. Scott Kingery, 2B71. Rhys Hoskins, 1B80. Jorge Alfaro, C90. Adonis Medina, RHP92. Adam Haseley, CF"

In addition to these eight, Nick Williams was also considered for the top 100. He should appear in his 40th game Thursday night, so his time as a prospect is almost over regardless.

Based on this top 100, the Phillies have the second-best farm system in all of baseball. While they don’t have any prospects in the top quarter of the list, they are all over the bottom of the list.

This is a major jump compared to their preseason rankings, when just three Phillies prospects were on the list.

In addition to this top 100, Longenhagen released updated top ten lists for all teams. The updated Philadelphia top ten looked as follows:

"1. J.P. Crawford, SS2. Sixto Sanchez, RHP3. Mickey Moniak, OF4. Scott Kingery, 2B5. Rhys Hoskins, 1B6. Jorge Alfaro, C7. Adonis Medina, RHP8. Adam Haseley, CF9. Nick Williams, OF10. Franklyn Kilome, RHP"

This is what Longenhagen had to say about the system as a whole:

More from That Balls Outta Here

"This is one of the tougher systems to line up right now, as one is forced to decide what to think of J.P. Crawford, who has suddenly begun hitting a bit after a horrendous first half. He looks very comfortable at the plate right now, grinding out long at-bats before either walking or hitting the ball hard somewhere. Sixto Sanchez is throwing strikes with elite velocity and flashing impact secondary stuff. Kingery’s early-season power spike was a caricature of actual improvements he has made to hit for more of it. Hoskins is going to be an everyday big-league first baseman.Williams and Alfaro are frustrating at times but talented enough to play a big-league role anyway and potential stars if they ever remedy their ills. Adonis Medina has a chance for three plus pitches. Kilome has pitched his way to Double-A. RHP Seranthony Dominguez, who was sitting 94-97 before injury, also garnered heavy consideration."

Unlike many other lists this summer, Crawford remains in the top spot as opposed to Moniak or Sanchez. In fact, this is the lowest I’ve seen Moniak on any list. Also, Medina is starting to climb the list and we may see that from other outlets as well this winter after Medina’s strong campaign this year.

Longenhagen has his pulse on the Phillies system as he has written about them for years for The Good Phight and Crashburn Alley. He has followed many of the players on this list for years before joining Fangraphs.
