The Phillies fell to the Rangers in the first game of their interleague series and they will look to even up the score Wednesday night.
The Phillies lost to the Rangers Tuesday night by a 5-1 margin as Jerad Eickhoff gave up three runs on seven hits and two walks in six innings. The righty struck out eight and gave up a first-inning home run in his fourth loss of the season. Freddy Galvis hit a RBI single in the seventh for Philadelphia’s only run before Mark Leiter, Jr. allowed a two-run home run that sealed the game for Texas.

Starting Pitchers
The last time Zach Eflin pitched against an American League he was demolished by a fearsome Blue Jays lineup in his debut. This time out, Eflin has some major-league experience under his belt – and a pair of new knees as well – that should help him out.
Eflin has a 2.81 ERA with a 4.25 strikeout-to-walk ratio through 32 innings this season. In each of his last two starts, Eflin gave up three runs on nine hits. In his last start against the Mariners, Eflin recorded five strikeouts, the most he has had all season.

Andrew Cashner’s 2.43 ERA indicates a strong start to the season, but his 5.16 FIP shows that his success has been deceiving. Cashner has walked more hitters (20) than he struck out (17) so far this season, also showing some hidden flaws in his game. If Philadelphia’s offense is going to come alive against anyone, it’s going to be Casher.
