More from That Balls Outta Here

The Mariners killed the narrative of the Carlos Ruiz reunion and left him out of the starting lineup, starting former Phillie minor-leaguer Tuffy Gosewich behind the plate. Also out of the lineup is the dangerous Nelson Cruz, who is usually Seattle’s designated hitter.

Starting Pitchers

Eickhoff is still looking for his first win of the season after struggling in Chicago. He allowed four runs in 5.2 innings in his last start. Eickhoff’s ERA for the season now stands at an even 4.00 through six starts.

The only player who has faced Eickhoff in their career is former Brewer and Diamondback Jean Segura. He has gone 4-for-5 in his career against Eickhoff.

Taking the mound to face Philadelphia is the lefty, Miranda. He has actually pitched rather well this season, posting a 3.55 ERA through six starts this season. In his last start against the Angels, Miranda went seven innings and gave up just two runs on seven hits and one walk. No Phillie has yet faced the 28-year old Miranda.
