Who will be the Jeremy Lin of the Phillies?

Justin:  Who will submit an outburst of hyper-talent, simmer, and fade into oblivion, all the while being subjected to pointless and relentless racism?  Shit.  Hopefully no one.

Ethan:  With Jeremy Lin’s flavor-of-the-months status over, maybe this question should be changed to who will be the #kony of the Phillies?

So who has the power to repeat this feat achieved by Vance Worley last year?  My money is on right-handed starter, Austin Hyatt.  Hyatt has never been a big name prospect, but he’s gone about his business putting up solid numbers at every level.  Sounds pretty Linsane to me.  Hopefully the Phillies will wait to call him up long enough for me to figure out a good hotel pun for the kid.

Stolnis:  Lots of different possibilities here. The Phils really did a great job of signing guys to minor league deals that have the potential to pay huge dividends. Unfortunately, none of them are Asian-American, so their Jeremy Lin-ness will have to reside solely in their play on the field, ignoring the racial bias and stereotypes implied by this question (by the way, I intended to sound as pompous as possible there. How’d I do?)

Ricco:  Dom Brown. Because I’m both delusional and an ardent apologist, I’m going to answer “Dom Brown” even though he doesn’t remotely fit the bill of a “Jeremy Lin”. But if I HAD to be a normal human being (normal meaning someone without an irrational obsession for a minor league baseball player), I see the potential of him coming up to fill in if say, Jimmy gets hurt. After all, Galvis couldn’t possibly hit much worse than Michael Martinez, and his glove would certainly be an upgrade.
