As if Alec Bohm's start to his season couldn't get any better.

After ripping apart MLB pitching since about the middle of April, the Philadelphia Phillies third baseman has been recognized as the NL Player of the Week for the week of April 22 to 28.

In that time, the 27-year-old put together a ridiculous .567 batting average and eye-popping 1.514 OPS, which includes a .581 on-base percentage and .933 slugging percentage. Those insane ratios helped him rack up 17 hits, with eight doubles and one home run in his last seven games. He scored six times and drove in eight as the Phillies have gone 5-2 over that stretch.

Bohm had three doubles and five RBI just in the weekend sweep of the San Diego Padres. He had multiple hits in all three games, including a 3-for-5 day on Sunday. Honestly, it feels like he'll get a hit every time he steps to the plate, and he enters action on Monday on a 12-game hit streak.

Teammate Bryson Stott praised Bohm's recent hot streak following Sunday's 8-6 win, per NBC Sports Philadelphia's Corey Seidman.

"Me and Whit (Merrifield) were sitting there saying he's due for an RBI, it's been three at-bats," Stott said, per Seidman. "He's pretty incredible. He gets on these runs where it doesn't matter, it could be a knuckleball, slider, under-hand fastball and you know he's gonna hit it."

Bohm was so dominant over the Padres in the three games that he even received praise from Padres manager Mike Shildt, per MLB.com's Shaun O'Neill.

"This guy Bohm, man, he’s one of the best right-handed hitters in the game right now,” Shildt said, per O'Neill. “He’s seeing it and swinging it really well.”

Bohm joins Trea Turner as the second Phillie to earn NL Player of the Week honors this season. The teammates went back-to-back after Turner won the award for the week of April 15 to 21.
