The 31-year-old is making a push to stick in the rotation when Taijuan Walker returns from the IL.
- The Pirates will send out Marco Gonzales (0-0) to face the Phillies today. The 32-year-old has had good results through two starts for his new team. He has a 2.45 ERA over 11 innings but only six strikeouts and has given up nine hits. The lefty faced the Phillies once last season while with the Seattle Mariners, picking up the win in five innings of four-hit ball, surrendering just one solo home run while striking out two.
