The Philadelphia Phillies (7-6) finally got over the .500 mark with a 5-1 win on Thursday against the Pittsburgh Pirates (9-4) and will now look to keep the momentum going on Friday.

With concerns circulating about the team's lack of slugging, The Daycare came through big time. Alec Bohm, Brandon Marsh and Bryson Stott all hit home runs to back Ranger Suarez's spectacular outing. The righty tossed six innings of two-hit ball, striking out eight Pirates.

The Phillies will debut their new City Connect uniforms tonight, and it will be interesting to see how the new threads look in action.

Phillies vs. Pirates probable pitchers, April 12

  • Cristopher Sánchez (0-1) will take the ball for the Phillies tonight, making his third start of the season. The left-hander started strong in his first game, striking out eight Cincinnati Reds through five innings, but wasn't as sharp in his second start. Against the Washington Nationals, he went 4 1/3 innings, giving up three runs on six hits with just one strikeout to three walks. He'll look to get his command back on track tonight.
  • Former Phillie Bailey Falter (0-0) will counter for the Pirates. The 26-year-old lefty comes in with a 5.40 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and just three strikeouts in 10 innings over his two starts this season. After getting blown up in his season debut against the Miami Marlins, he settled down and threw six scoreless innings of one-hit ball — despite only recording one strikeout — against the dangerous-looking Baltimore Orioles.
