The Philadelphia Phillies (53-28) and Miami Marlins (29-52) will play the second game of their four-game series on Friday at Citizens Bank Park after the Phillies took a shocking loss on Thursday. More important than the 7-4 loss to a woeful Marlins squad are the injuries to a pair of Phillies players.
Hearts are heavy in Philly today after the Phillies lost Kyle Schwarber and Bryce Harper in the ninth inning of last night's game. Schwarber was pulled with a groin tightness. Harper limped off the field after hurting himself running to first base on the final out of the game. It was a gut-wrenching sight.
The Phillies announced that both players are heading to the 10-day IL. The good news is that neither injury is considered serious. Kody Clemens and Johan Rojas have been recalled from Triple-A Lehigh Valley to take their places on the 26-man roster. Both players will suit up for tonight's game.
