The Philadelphia Phillies (49-26) didn’t have the kind of game fans were hoping for on Friday in the series opener against last year's NLCS nemesis, the Arizona Diamondbacks (38-38).

The Phils dropped a 5-4 decision after starter Taijuan Walker got rocked for three home runs, giving up four runs, all earned, on five hits in four innings of work. He logged three strikeouts and issued three walks. It was especially disappointing after the stirring pre-game Cole Hamels retirement ceremony.

The Phillies will try to even the series on Saturday and have the right man for the job, with ace Zack Wheeler on the hill.
