The juggernaut that it is the Philadelphia Phillies (37-14) rolls into Coors Field on Friday to begin a three-game series against the Colorado Rockies (16-33). Since the Phillies swept the Rockies at Citizens Bank Park in mid-April, the two clubs have been on two entirely different paths. The MLB-best Phillies are 29-6, while the Rockies are 12-18 (buoyed by a recent seven-game win streak).
The record-setting Phillies have a league-best +93 run differential and sit first in the NL East by 6.0 games. They're coming off a sweep (their seventh of the year) of the defending World Series champion Texas Rangers and have won six in a row.
The Rockies and their -74 run differential are last in the NL West, already 15.5 games out of the race. They're coming off a wild, and likely deflating, 11-inning loss in Oakland, in which they allowed five runs in the bottom of the 11th. Yikes.
