The Philadelphia Phillies (45-20) are finally returning to a regular schedule as they kick off a three-game series against the Boston Red Sox (33-33) at Fenway Park on Tuesday night. While the London Series was fun, fans can probably agree that having the Phillies back playing every day is a relief.

The Phillies split the London Series against the Mets, despite having Sunday's game in hand. The Red Sox, who sit 13.0 games back in the AL East, are coming off a two-game series split with the Atlanta Braves and a four-game split with the Chicago White Sox.

Despite playing just two games in five days, the Phils grew their lead over the Braves in the NL East to 9.0 games over the weekend. Unfortunately, the bad news came out this afternoon that catcher J.T. Realmuto is going for surgery to remove and repair the torn meniscus in his right knee. He'll be out for anywhere from four to eight weeks.

Phillies vs. Red Sox probable pitchers, June 11

  • Zack Wheeler (7-3) will take the bump for the series opener after getting some extra rest over the weekend. He carries a 2.23 ERA and 0.97 WHIP into his 14th start and first ever at Fenway. His last game came eight days ago against the Milwaukee Brewers when he went seven innings, scattering five hits and allowing just one run with three walks and six strikeouts.
  • Kutter Crawford (2-5) counters for the Red Sox. The 28-year-old righty has a 3.51 ERA and 1.18 WHIP in 13 starts. He has lost four of his last five starts and hasn't fared well at home, with a 4.28 ERA in seven games. Crawford went six innings against the Braves in his last outing but allowed six runs (four earned) on five hits with a pair of walks and five strikeouts.
