The Philadelphia Phillies begin their regular season later this week. Four of the Phillies' infielders — catcher J.T. Realmuto, first baseman Bryce Harper, third baseman Alec Bohm and shortstop Trea Turner — have all made the All-Star Game once or more during their careers. Second baseman Bryson Stott will look to become an All-Star for the first time in 2025.
More importantly, the Phillies' infielders hope to have good years that help the team win the World Series. However, there are some questions in the infield. Will Stott improve from last season's statistics? Bohm excelled at the start of the year but fizzled down the stretch and in the playoffs. How will he respond after an offseason of trade rumors? Turner and Realmuto each missed time with injuries. How will their stats look if they manage to stay healthy this year?
With the season approaching, let's look at the infield power rankings for the upcoming season.
Phillies infield power rankings ahead of the 2025 season
No. 5: Trea Turner, SS
Turner's .807 OPS in 121 games last season was higher than the .778 OPS he finished with in 155 contests in 2023. However, some of his stats were impacted due to a left hamstring strain that forced him out of the lineup for six weeks. He finished with 21 home runs in 2024 compared to 26 the year before.

Turner's RBI total decreased from 76 to 62 and his ISO (isolated power) dropped from .192 to .174. He can be solid offensively when he is in the zone. However, he needs to change his plate approach to be the team's leadoff batter in 2025.
His advanced defensive statistics at shortstop have not been good with Philadelphia. Turner's total defensive runs saved above average (DRS) was -14 in 2024, worse than the -12 he finished with two years ago. His outs above average measuring range (OAA) slightly improved to -3 last year compared to -5 in 2023.
No. 4: Alec Bohm, 3B
Bohm had a solid 2024 season until he sustained a hand injury at the end of August. He had an .805 OPS at the end of August. His OPS dropped to .780 by the end of the year, and he had a dreadful .220 OPS in four postseason games.
FanGraphs' Steamer projections predict Philadelphia's third baseman will regress offensively in 2025. He started last year off strong as one of the league's top positional players in OPS. His start helped him earn his first All-Star Game nomination. The season ended for him in a nightmarish fashion.

His fielding percentage at third base was .960 in 128 games last year and .978 in 90 contests in 2023. At first base, Bohm finished with a .991 fielding percentage in 15 games compared to .990 in 80 games two years ago. According to FanGraphs, the Omaha, Nebraska native's OAA did improve from -6 to two last year. His DRS was -2 in the previous two seasons.
No. 3: J.T. Realmuto, C
Realmuto's 2024 slash line of .266/.322/.429 was better than his .252/.310/.452 line from two years ago. He did play in only 99 games last year compared to 135 contests in 2023. The catcher's OPS decreased from .762 to .751 while his ISO dipped from .200 to .163.
While he may not be as good offensively as he once was, Realmuto is still solid defensively as a catcher. His DRS improved from -4 to zero. According to Baseball Savant's MLB percentile rankings, the 33-year-old's pop time was still excellent at 1.85 seconds in 2024. He rebounded in caught stealing above average, which is the difference between actual caught stealing and estimated caught stealing based on the attempts seen, according to Baseball Savant. The Phillies' catcher totaled a score of five last year compared to two in 2023.
No. 2: Bryson Stott, 2B
Stott regressed offensively in 2024 from his solid second season in the majors. His OPS lowered from .747 to .671. The second baseman posted a slash line of .280/.329/.419 in 2023, which dipped to .245/.315/.356 in 2024. Phillies president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski revealed over the offseason that Stott played with an elbow injury last year, which affected his swing.

His ISO was also down from .138 to .111. Another category in which the infielder suffered a drop was his batting average on balls in play (BABIP). His BABIP lowered from .312 to .275.
Stott is a solid defensive second baseman. He totaled a DRS of seven last year, which was slightly better than his DRS of six in 2023. The infielder had an OAA of two in 2024, significantly less than the 16 he posted two seasons ago. He still finished as a finalist for the Gold Glove Award for the second season in a row.
No. 1: Bryce Harper, 1B
Harper posted a .898 OPS a year ago, very close to his OPS of .900 in 2023. The first baseman played in 145 games compared to 126 two seasons ago. His ISO increased from .206 to .240, as did his home run total from 21 to 30. The Las Vegas, Nevada, native's RBI total increased from 72 to 87. However, he finished with 138 strikeouts, which was more than his total of 119 in 2023.
Harper matched his career-high in doubles with 42, which he also totaled during his 2021 NL MVP season. His double total was more than the 29 he compiled in 2023. The 32-year-old will likely have another good offensive season in a critical season for the organization.
Defensively, Harper adjusted further to playing first base in his second season playing the position. His DRS total increased from one to five, and his OAA improved from zero to seven. He will look to continue being reliable with the glove for the Phillies in 2025.
