Major League Baseball is now two months into the season. As players and teams separate from the rest of the pack, fans get a first look at the All-MLB Teams, with MLB.com experts making early predictions. The Philadelphia Phillies were represented well, with three players on the current list.
These players, to no surprise, are designated hitter Kyle Schwarber, right-hander Zack Wheeler and left-hander Jesús Luzardo. If they keep their spots, it would mark Wheeler's third time on the list and Schwarber's second time.
MLB.com's voting was based on 2025 performance to date and the expectations moving forward for the remainder of the season, on how the experts think the season will play out.
Kyle Schwarber, Zack Wheeler and Jesús Luzardo earn early All-MLB Team nods
Schwarber, in 57 games, has helped lead the Phillies to the best winning percentage in the National League. He is having one of the best seasons of his career, with a slash line of .257/.395/.578. The on-base percentage and slugging percentage would both be career highs if they hold, and his batting average would be his highest since the 2021 season. He already has 19 home runs and driven in 42 runs this season.
This earned him a spot on the All-MLB Second Team, as Los Angeles Dodgers designated hitter Shohei Ohtani leads the way on the First Team. Schwarber, most fans would agree, has been the team's MVP to date this season. Sliding down from the leadoff spot to the middle of the order has been a good challenge for the Phillies slugger.

The next Phillies player making the prediction list was Wheeler, taking a spot on the All-MLB First Team. He joined other starters, including Tarik Skubal, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Max Fried and Paul Skenes. Wheeler has a 6-2 record, posting a 2.96 ERA and 94 strikeouts in 76 innings.
He had his string of seven consecutive quality starts snapped on Thursday, but outside of that, had only been getting stronger as the season progresses. He has a 2.25 ERA in May, and before Thursday hadn't allowed a run since May 6. The Phillies ace not only continues to be the best on the team, but also one of the best in baseball, which was noted by MLB.com.
The second arm on the list is Luzardo, who is having a career season so far with a 5-0 record while posting a 2.15 ERA in 11 starts, striking out 77 in 67 innings of work. He is joined on the All-MLB Second Team by Garrett Crochet, Hunter Brown, Logan Webb, Jacob deGrom and Nathan Eovaldi.
Luzardo has thrown three straight quality starts, and five of his last seven outings have been quality starts. He has struck out double-digit hitters three times this season, including back-to-back 10-strikeout games. Luzardo has been the best offseason acquisition for the Phillies, helping the club improve its starting pitching and take it to the next level.

Phillies' honorable mentions could find their way onto All-MLB Team by season's end
Those three players have been the Phillies' best players and deserve to be on the list. The next in line who could see their way to the list is first baseman Bryce Harper, who has turned his season around with a strong last few weeks, but will need to see his power numbers spike.
Trea Turner is having an excellent season at shortstop, on pace for a 200-hit and 40-stolen-base year. That would be the first of his career.
Left-hander Ranger Suárez most likely will not find his way on the list after missing the start of the season, but since coming off the IL, he has been fantastic with three scoreless outings in his last four starts, and all four have been quality starts. So, missing April will hurt the left-hander, but he is pitching to the level of the All-MLB Team so far.
