The Philadelphia Phillies (26-18) and the Pittsburgh Pirates (15-30) renew their series at Citizens Bank Park on Saturday evening. The Phillies will look to build on their come from behind 8-4 win on Friday to secure another series win.
The Phillies were down 3-1 heading into the bottom of the seventh after starter Ranger Suárez went seven innings, with a three-run home run the lone blemish on his night. The Phillies put together a four-run rally, needing only one hit, a hit-by-pitch and a sacrifice fly to do the damage. They tacked on three more in the eighth.
Before the game, the Phillies announced that starter Aaron Nola was heading to the 15-day IL with a right ankle sprain. But obviously, the biggest news of the night was Bryce Harper joining some elite company, per MLB.com's Todd Zolecki, as he reached the 1,000 RBI milestone. He accomplished the feat with a soft bloop single in the fifth inning, scoring Johan Rojas from third base.
With Friday's win, the Phillies moved to 1.5 games behind the New York Mets in the NL East. They'll try to get to a season-high nine games over .500 tonight, and they'll have the right man on the mound for the job.
