The Philadelphia Phillies (47-34) continue their road trip on Friday, opening a three-game weekend series against the Atlanta Braves (37-43) at Truist Park. The NL East rivals meet for their third series of the season.

The Phillies went into Houston riding high, but now stumble into Atlanta after dropping all three games to the Astros in embarrassing fashion. The starting pitching was terrific, but the offense only managed to score a single run. They snapped their epic scoreless innings streak at 26 1/3 in the eighth inning on Thursday thanks to a sacrifice fly by Brandon Marsh.

The rough trip to Texas saw the Phillies lose their division lead. The New York Mets leapfrogged them by half a game on Thursday. The Phillies are now 5-5 in their last 10. The Braves are coming off a series split with the Mets, losing two in a row, and are 6-4 in their last 10. They sit 10 games back of first in the NL East and remain seven games out of a Wild Card spot.

The Phillies and Braves have split their season series three games apiece. The Braves took two of three the last time the teams met at Truist Park, while the Phillies returned the favor in Philly, taking two of three at Citizens Bank Park.
