The Philadelphia Phillies had an eventful offseason in which they made various signings and acquisitions to help the team’s chances of winning in 2025. Among the most significant moves included the addition of closer Jordan Romano to bolster their relief corps, the signing of Max Kepler to upgrade their outfield, and the blockbuster trade for Jesús Luzardo to strengthen the starting rotation.
With that, spring training is already upon us as pitchers and catchers reported to Clearwater last week and full squad workouts are now underway. With great anticipation of another exciting season ahead for Philadelphia, Phillies fans can actually get their first look at the newly-formed squad in training camp in the coming weeks.

Some of the key games to watch include matches against the Atlanta Braves, New York Yankees and Toronto Blue Jays. An early look at the Braves will give the Phillies an idea of how they stack up against their long-time division rivals after both teams made numerous moves to beef up their roster.
As for the Yankees, they were World Series finalists last season, along with being one of the biggest players this offseason with the addition of star players Max Fried, Devin Williams, Paul Goldschmidt and Cody Bellinger. It will be interesting to gauge how close the Phillies are to one of their main competitors for the championship title. Finally, with the Blue Jays, we can get a first look at who may have the early edge in the de-facto closer swap of Romano for Jeff Hoffman.
But no matter who Philadelphia plays this spring, just be ready for some fascinating baseball. And before you know it, the Phillies’ regular season will be around the corner on March 27 when they will kickstart their 2025 campaign and be officially back in business.
