The Philadelphia Phillies have made their fair share of moves this offseason in preparation for another contending year in 2026. As training camp officially opened this week, the Phillies will have a good idea of how their roster will shape out in the coming weeks with some intriguing position battles.

Even with all of that, it doesn’t mean that Philadelphia is done with all of their transactions for the winter. In fact, there could be some players on the move by the time the regular season rolls around. Here, we will take a look at three Phillies players that are still most likely to be traded before Opening Day.

3 Phillies players still most likely to be traded before Opening Day

Zach Pop, RHP

Signed surprisingly to a one-year MLB contract by the Phillies, Zach Pop will be looking to resurrect his career this season. Following a stellar 2022 campaign in which he posted a 4-0 record, 2.77 ERA, and 1.15 WHIP in 35 appearances split between the Miami Marlins and Toronto Blue Jays, the 29-year-old right-hander has struggled to find his footing for much of the past three years.

Since 2023, Pop has an abysmal 6.68 ERA and 1.43 WHIP, giving up a whopping 51 earned runs including 17 home runs in just 68 2/3 innings over 78 relief appearances in the big leagues. Not to mention his forgettable season last year in which he compiled a dreadful 14.85 ERA and 2.55 WHIP in just five games split between the Seattle Mariners and New York Mets. In doing so, Pop was ultimately designated for assignment twice and ended his season playing in the minors for the Chicago Cubs.

Pop will have his work cut out for him this spring if he wants to land a spot on the Phillies’ Opening Day roster. With no minor league options remaining, if he doesn’t end up making the team, look for Philadelphia to try to move him, even for cash, before the start of the regular season.

Garrett Stubbs, C

Despite having always been a fan favorite in Phillies nation, Garrett Stubbs could finally see his tenure with Philadelphia end this spring. Once again, Stubbs will be battling Rafael Marchán for the backup catcher’s role following the return of J.T. Realmuto. This was the same situation as last spring, with Marchán ultimately winning the job while Stubbs ended up spending the bulk of 2025 in Triple-A Lehigh Valley thanks to his remaining minor league option.

With the IronPigs, the 32-year-old showed that he could be more than just his glove, as he posted a solid .265 average with a .753 OPS, with 45 runs scored, eight home runs and 50 RBIs in 71 games. With Marchán likely having the upper hand once again this season, Stubbs likely won't get through waivers. The Phillies won't want to lose the seven-year veteran for nothing, giving him a high probability of being dealt before the regular season.

Johan Rojas, OF

The Phillies have patiently waited for Johan Rojas to finally arrive for three seasons and counting. Despite having shown glimpses of brilliance in his play along the way, Rojas for the most part has disappointed with his offensive production. Of course, he has maintained his defensive prowess in the field, but his bat has left a lot to be desired. Following a solid debut in 2023, the 25-year-old outfielder has struggled at the plate the past two seasons, compiling just a .237 average, .591 OPS, with 70 runs scored, four home runs, 50 RBIs, and 37 stolen bases in 191 games.

Time appears to be running out for Rojas now that promising top prospect Justin Crawford should finally arrive in the majors this season. With Crawford possessing a similar skill set and abilities but with a far superior bat and elite speed, it essentially makes Rojas redundant in the Phillies lineup. Especially with the likes of Otto Kemp and Edmundo Sosa having taken successful reps in the outfield last season, Rojas may no longer be a necessity as the team’s extra outfielder. He could still be considered a valuable player for a rebuilding team, so the Phillies could give him a fresh start while recouping an asset in return.
