Philadelphia Phillies announce 2023 spring training schedule

The Phillies will play 32 spring training games before Opening Day 2023.

Hopefully coming off of their first postseason appearance in 11 years, the date has been set for when the Philadelphia Phillies will officially kick off 2023 Grapefruit League action at BayCare Ballpark in Clearwater, Florida.

Wednesday afternoon, the Phillies announced next season’s spring training schedule. The potential Rob Thomson-led club will play 32 games in the Sunshine State next February and March — starting Saturday, February 25 with split-squad matchups home against the New York Yankees and away against the Detroit Tigers in Lakeland.

The Phillies will wrap up spring training in a noon home game against the Toronto Blue Jays on Tuesday, March 28, before the team packs up to head west to take on the Texas Rangers for Opening Day.

The 2023 Phillies spring training schedule is as follows:

  • Saturday, February 25: vs. Yankees, 1:05 p.m. (split-squad); at Tigers, 1:05 p.m. (split-squad)
  • Sunday, February 26: vs. Twins; 1:05 p.m.
  • Monday, February 27: at Pirates, Time TBD
  • Tuesday, February 28: vs. Blue Jays (split-squad), 1:05 p.m.
  • Wednesday, March 1: at Twins, Time TBD
  • Thursday, March 2: at Red Sox, Time TBD
  • Friday, March 3: vs. Tigers (split-squad), 1:05 p.m.
  • Saturday, March 4: vs. Pirates, 1:05 p.m.
  • Sunday, March 5: at Blue Jays, Time TBD
  • Monday, March 6: at Orioles, Time TBD
  • Tuesday, March 7: vs. Rays, 1:05 p.m.

Unlike in past years, no game against a collegiate opponent is scheduled.

With the 2023 regular season schedule also recently released, Phillies fans can officially plan ahead for potential road trips next season. If you haven’t been to a spring training game yet down in Clearwater, it’s a must to do at least once in your lifetime.
