8. Odúbel Herrera will get traded

Unfortunately, this hasn’t happened yet, but there’s still plenty of time! If Mickey Moniak comes back from injury and plays the way he did in Spring Training, the Phillies should cut the cord with Herrera, again.

9. The Phillies bullpen won’t blow 34 saves

So far, so good! Whereas the 2021 Phillies led the league in blown saves for most of the season and finished the year with 34, to tie the all-time record, they’re far from the worst bullpen in the first month of this year. The Red Sox lead MLB with eight blown saves; the Phillies are among the five teams with only one.

Of course, part of that achievement can be attributed to the fact that they’re often not playing well enough to be in a save situation, but let’s take the wins where we can get them.

10. Bryce Harper or Juan Soto for NL MVP?

Still too soon to tell, but Soto is tearing the cover off the ball in DC. Harper isn’t hitting nearly as well, though he’s dealing with a sore throwing arm. Besides, he really heated up in the second half last year, so this isn’t the biggest concern for the Phillies, yet.
