Game 1 – 7:05pm

Zach Eflin and Sam Gaviglio will toe the rubber for their respective teams in Friday night baseball. Both starters are entering Game One with a 1-0 record this season.

Friday night’s game will be telecasted live on NBC 10 Philadelphia.

Probable Starters:

Zach Eflin: Eflin will face the Toronto Blue Jays for the second time in his career and the first time didn’t go so well. He last faced the Blue Jays in June 2016 when he made his major league debut, only lasting 2.2 innings while allowing eight runs. This season, Eflin is 1-0 with a 1.56 ERA.

He last pitched for the Phillies on May 19th in St. Louis, a game where he’d eventually get a no-decision. In that game, he went 4.2 innings and allowed two earned runs on eighty-five pitches.

Sam Gaviglio: The twenty-eight-year-old righty Sam Gaviglio is scheduled to take the mound for the Blue Jays in the series opener Friday night. In 2018, he’s 1-0 with an ERA of 0.93.

He is coming off a shutout against the Oakland Athletics in his first start in 2018, and making his first career start against the Phillies.
