Series Preview: New York Mets vs Philadelphia Phillies

In the final series of the 2017 regular season, the Phillies take on the New York Mets in a three game series at Citizens Bank Park for the final time this year.
Entering game one of the series, the Philadelphia is 5-11 against the Mets this season.
Game one of the three game series begins on Friday at 7:05 pm EST.

Ben Lively is scheduled to start for as he makes his final start of the 2017 season. This season, Lively is 3-7. His ERA sits at 4.35 with 51 strikeouts.
Lively has only faced the Mets two times this year, sitting at a 1-1 record against the Mets. In his last start against them, he picked up the win as he went seven one-run innings. He gave up only four hits as Philadelphia won 9-1 that night.
For the Mets, righty Matt Harvey will take the mound. In his last three games, he has allowed 15 runs. Harvey faced the Phillies just one time this season, which was in April. He picked up the win as he went 5.2 innings.
Game two is a Saturday night match-up. First pitch is scheduled to start at 7:05pm, the final night game for both teams in the 2017 regular season.
Righty Henderson Alvarez is scheduled to take the mound as he continues his audition for a rotation spot next season. He is 0-1 after recently being called up to the big leagues. Last start, Alvarez pitched five scoreless innings in a no decision against the Atlanta Braves in Atlanta.

Jacob deGrom is scheduled to head to the hill to face Alvarez and the rest of the team. deGrom looks to finish up his pretty good season with a win, which would make him 16-10 for the year.
Game three is the final game of the 2017 regular season. They’ll send rookie Nick Pivetta, who is 7-10. In his last start, Pivetta faced the Atlanta Braves and picked up the win. He went six scoreless innings, lowering his ERA down to 6.26 after entering the game 6.57.
Like many others in the rotation, Pivetta will hope to prove he’s worthy to stay.
Righty Seth Lugo will pitch for the Mets. His record this season entering the ballgame is 7-5. His ERA is 4.72 and he has 81 strikeouts so far this year.
