
The Fightin Phils scored seven runs in back-to-back games thanks to three home runs. Catcher Jorge Alfaro, first baseman Rhys Hoskins, and Jesmuel Valentin each sent one into the seats.
Roman Quinn was hitless but he did reach base and stole his 22nd base of the year. The speedy outfielder has been hot and cold at the plate this year but, he maintains a .258 batting average in his healthiest season to date in the Phillies organization.
Starter John Richy went four and two-third innings striking out five and allowing two runs on four hits and two walks. Richy set down 12 of the first 15 batters he faced Thursday night before handing it off to the bullpen. Fans saw pitchers Jeremy Bleich, Miguel Nunez and Joely Rodriguez in relief of Richy to seal the big win.
Bleich earned the win, Rodriquez got a hold, and Nunez received his first save of the year after Rodriquez allowed two ninth inning runs with a strikeout to end the game.
Ben Lively will take the mound Friday looking to go 8-0 and improve his already strong 1.87 era. The Fightin Phils will head off on a seven-game road trip starting in New Hampshire Friday night.
