Delmon Young Says Very Sad Quote

facebooktwitterreddit

"“Unfortunately, we don’t know as players in the clubhouse about how much time we have together so we’re trying to win as many games as possible right now.”—Delmon Young via Chris Branch"

DELMON YOUNG IS JUST TRYING TO KEEP THIS TEAM TOGETHER.

Thus far, the most possible wins the Phillies could pull off is one. Which, out of four games, really lacks the pizzazz of a second half surge.

A “Sad Delmon Young” in the locker room definitely doesn’t help. Imagine trying to go about your daily routine with a despondent moose wailing in the corner. Rude.

Also, imagine you’re working somewhere at which you could be terminated at any moment. And everyday, the guy who will probably pull the lever on the trap door you’ll be standing on goes to the press every few days to talk about how far in either direction he is to being all in with you or cleaning house.  Also, his opinion seems slightly sideways.

Also, the moose.

PHILLIES CURRENT CONCERNS

  • How bad the baseball is
  • Trading all of the players
  • Dark thoughts
  • Wait what if Jonathan Pettibone isn’t a #1-2 starter
  • Moose metaphors

So, the Phillies have been playing badly enough to get Delmon Young thinking about the end.  If this is the general malaise of the clubhouse, which hell, why wouldn’t it be, then we are in for some dreary weeks, followed by intense numbness.  Something about playing a team accurately referred to as “ruthlessly efficient” probably isn’t going to help.
