Roy Halladay blew up today, and I mean, it was real bad.

He lasted a Halladay-esque four innings, giving up nine runs.  He gave up a grand slam to a team who didn’t have more collective home runs than the two Upton brothers until this weekend.  He also hit Justin Ruggiano with the ball, twice.

Halladay has been melting down constantly over the last few weeks, a sign that something is seriously wrong.  But Doc keeps going along, saying it’s mental, or he’s fine, or just forget about it, he’s fine.  None of it is particularly believable, but nobody wants to be the one to give Roy Halladay an ultimatum of any kind.

So, for anybody losing sleep over the ambiguous nature of his ailment, WE HAVE GREAT NEWS!

Hooray!  Roy has had a secret shoulder issue that he didn’t tell anyone about and will now go see one of those doctors who players only see when they are running toward the white light!

We’re having just the worst weekend here in Philadelphia, except for the weather and the festivals and the Broad Street Run and Free Comic Book Day.
