The 2025 Philadelphia Phillies farm system was highlighted by the return of Andrew Painter, the performance of Justin Crawford, and the trajectory of Aidan Miller. However, a name not often mentioned but one that should be on every Phillies fan’s radar is Felix Reyes.
Reyes is a 24-year-old infielder/outfielder who had a highly productive 2025 season. He spent the majority of the year in Double-A with the Reading Fightin Phils before earning a late-season call-up to Triple-A with the Lehigh Valley IronPigs.
Felix Reyes forcing his way into Phillies’ future plans with incredible season in Double-A
His overall 2025 slash line across the minor leagues was an impressive .331/.362/.562. He earned his promotion after a stellar season in Reading, where he claimed the Eastern League batting title (subscription required).
Remarkably, Reyes became one of three Phillies players to earn a batting crown this season: Crawford led the International League with a .334 average, while Trea Turner topped the National League with a .304 average.
In addition to the batting title, Reyes was named the Eastern League Most Valuable Player, becoming the ninth player in Reading Fightin Phils history to earn the honor and the first since Dylan Cozens in 2016. It's a remarkable achievement and a testament to Reyes' breakout season. In 95 Double-A games he slashed .335/.365/.572 with 15 home runs, 65 RBIs and 13 stolen bases.
While many players need time to adjust after a promotion, Reyes hit the ground running in Triple-A. In just six games, he tallied six hits, including his first Triple-A home run, an early sign that he’s continuing to progress steadily through the minor league ranks.

Looking ahead, Reyes has a real opportunity to make a name for himself heading into next season, especially if he can carry his momentum through the offseason and into spring training. Whether he receives a spring training invite remains to be seen, but with Max Kepler and Harrison Bader set to hit free agency, and uncertainty surrounding Nick Castellanos, there could be a legitimate opening for Reyes.
The Phillies need prospects like him to emerge and provide depth in what is widely considered a top-heavy farm system. Reyes may not be a household name just yet, but he’s certainly giving fans a reason to pay attention.
