One year ago, the red-hot Philadelphia Phillies rode into Atlanta in the NLDS, upsetting them in just four games to advance to the NLCS.

Now, here we are in a familiar position as the Phillies will once again try to upset the Braves, who have the best record in baseball this time around. Can they achieve the feat two years in a row?

Game 1 will take place on Saturday night and if you're looking for the betting odds and the best bet to place, you've come to the right spot.

Phillies vs. Braves prediction and pick

I think history is going to repeat itself today, at least in Game 1. The Phillies are, once again, getting hot at the right time and they should that in the wild card round against the Miami Marlins.

Now, Ranger Suarez takes the mound for the Phillies and he gives the team a leg up on the Braves. Atlanta has struggled against left-handed pitchers lately. As a team, they drop to 14th in the Majors in OPS when facing left-handed pitchers. It also helps that Suarez has faced the Braves one this season and held them to only one earned run across six innings.

Meanwhile, Spencer Strider is stumbling into the playoffs, having allowed at least three earned runs in five of his last six starts. His latest start against the Phillies was a bad one as well, giving up four hits and three earned runs in 7.0 innings pitched.

With a huge price tag on the Phillies, I'm going to back them to win as significant underdogs in Game 1.
