After a dismal end to what looked to be a promising Opening Day at Citizens Bank Park on Friday, the Philadelphia Phillies (0-1) will dust themselves off and get right back out there for Game 2 of the season against the Atlanta Braves (1-0). After Zack Wheeler tossed six scoreless frames and Brandon Marsh staked the Phillies to a 2-0 lead over the Atlanta Braves, the Philadelphia bullpen imploded over the final three innings.

The 9-3 loss left a sour taste, but the Phillies have a fresh start today, and The Bank will surely be rocking again.

Aaron Nola will take the ball for the second game of the season. The 30-year-old right-hander will look to continue his success against the Braves. Over his career, Nola has a 15-10 record with a 3.40 ERA in 33 starts against the Phillies' division rival. Last season, he held the Braves lineup to a .232 batting average and .676 OPS in three regular season starts.

Left-hander Max Fried will start for the Braves today. The 30-year-old had an injury-riddled 2023 campaign but was impressive when healthy. He put up a 2.55 ERA over 77 2/3 innings, including one start against the Phillies — he struck out six over five innings in a one-run, four-hit effort.
