Over a month into the MLB offseason, some of the Philadelphia Phillies may be looking ahead for redemption as they prepare for the 2024 year. But with the holiday season fast approaching, many of the players are likely keeping busy with their families and loved ones. But for one of the Phillies fan favorites, it has turned out to be an especially special time of the year.

In the past week, Phillies catcher Garrett Stubbs caught the best pitch of his life when he successfully proposed to his girlfriend Evyn Murray on a beachside resort in Los Cabos, Mexico. Of course, when Stubbs got the elusive "yes" from his now-fiancée, it became a life-changing moment for the both of them.

It certainly couldn’t have happened to a more likable guy, as Stubbs is highly beloved by both the fans and his teammates. The exciting commemorative event was posted on X and Instagram to share their joy with everyone else in the world.

That certainly put a nice silver lining to Stubbs’ 2023 year after playing a role in helping the Phillies reach the playoffs for the second consecutive season. Working primarily as the Phillies’ backup catcher since 2022, he saw 41 games of action in 2023 in which he hit .204 with a .274 on-base percentage, along with 15 runs scored, four doubles, one home run, 12 RBI and two stolen bases in 113 at-bats.

Signed to a one-year, $850,000 contract for the 2024 season, Stubbs aims to do his best to get the Phillies back into the postseason again to finally capture the World Series championship that had eluded them the past two seasons.

In the meantime, Stubbs can probably prepare for another extravagant celebration when he officially ties the knot with Murray in the near future. All in all, we would like to send our congratulations once again to the future Mr. and Mrs. Stubbs!
