When it comes to a baseball game, nothing beats the sheer excitement of watching your favorite team play in front of your very own eyes, along with capturing the captivating atmosphere created by the crowd. What better way to share and enjoy one of America’s favorite pastimes than to participate in a great cause as well?
Two Philadelphia Phillies' minor league affiliates are set to face off against each other in a meaningful charity game that will take place on the evening of Wednesday, April 3. The High-A Jersey Shore BlueClaws will host the Double-A Reading Fightin Phils in an exhibition game at ShoreTown Ballpark, with tickets going for only $5 for general admission seating. Gates open at 4:30 p.m. ET for the 5:00 p.m. ET first pitch.
The proceeds from the exhibition game will go towards BlueClaws Charities and their annual grant program. As a bonus, fans who purchase a ticket to attend the charity game will also receive a complimentary ticket to Jersey Shore’s season opener on Friday, April 5. With many of the Phillies’ promising prospects, such as Justin Crawford and Gabriel Rincones Jr., on both minor league rosters, it's a great chance to catch some of the players of the future while contributing to a wonderful cause.
Last season, the BlueClaws compiled a strong 73-58 record in the North Division of the South Atlantic League to make the postseason but lost in the first round of the playoffs. On the other side, the Fightin Phils had a tougher time in 2023, finishing with a 59-77 record as they look forward to rebounding with a better season in 2024.
Take the opportunity to get out there to cheer on your future Phillies and lend a hand in helping those in need in a win-win situation for both the fans and the organization as a whole.
