The Philadelphia Phillies (71-50) will try to keep the good vibes rolling on Friday night when they host the Washington Nationals (55-67) for the second game of their four-game NL East series at Citizens Bank Park.

The Phillies crushed the visitors on Thursday in the series opener, logging 17 hits in a 13-3 rout. None were bigger than Weston Wilson's four hits to complete the 10th cycle in Phillies history. Wilson completed the cycle in the eighth inning on a double that deflected off the diving Alex Call's glove in right field.

Almost overshadowed by the early offense was Phillies starter Zack Wheeler, who was steady as always, going six innings with six strikeouts and allowing two runs (one earned). The ace picked up his 12th win, lowering his ERA to 2.72 and his WHIP to 0.98.

The big win added another game to the Phillies' lead in the NL East, as they now sit 7.0 games ahead of the Atlanta Braves again. They also leapfrogged the Los Angeles Dodgers for the best record in the NL by 0.5 games.
