The Philadelphia Phillies (70-50) host the Washington Nationals (55-66) for a four-game NL East series beginning Thursday night at Citizens Bank Park.

The Phillies are coming off a split of their two-game set against the Miami Marlins. The two games couldn't have gone much differently. After dropping the opener by a disheartening 5-0 score, they roared back to life on Wednesday with a 9-5 win, thanks to Kyle Schwarber's fourth-inning grand slam — possibly the biggest hit of the Phillies' season.

With the win, they hold on to their 6.0-game lead over the Atlanta Braves in the NL East but have some work to do to get back on track and regain the top record in the NL.

The Nationals come into the series 5-5 in their last 10 games, after splitting a two-gamer with the Baltimore Orioles. The Phillies are 5-1 in the season series against the Nationals this season.
