The Philadelphia Phillies (36-14) will attempt to sweep the defending World Series champion Texas Rangers (24-26) on Thursday afternoon. After taking Tuesday's opener 5-2, the bats came alive to back Taijuan Walker on Wednesday in an 11-4 win. They already have six series sweeps and have won 11 of their 17 series.

Wednesday's victory set a Phillies franchise record. Their 36th win marked the team's best record through 50 games. With a .720 winning percentage, they still have the best record in MLB, have the best run differential with +90 and, most importantly, remain 6.0 games up on the Atlanta Braves in the NL East.

  • Ace Zack Wheeler (5-3) will take the ball for the series finale today. The right-hander bounced back in his last start, with a seven-inning gem against the Nationals.   • Andrew Heaney (0-5) will start the finale for the Rangers. The 32-year-old lefty brings a 4.43 ERA and 1.23 WHIP in nine starts into this one. He has yet to pick up a win and went just 3 2/3 in his last start against the Angels. He has a 8.87 K/9 this season, which is below his career average of 9.56.
