Philadelphia Phillies probable pitchers & starting lineups vs. Texas Rangers, May 22
The Phillies can set a franchise record on Wednesday.
On Tuesday, the MLB-best Philadelphia Phillies (35-14) answered the bell once again with a 5-2 win over the defending World Series champion Texas Rangers (24-25). It was the team's first win against Texas since 2014.
The Phils rode yet another Ranger Suarez gem. The lefty went seven innings, allowing just one run with 10 strikeouts. Bryce Harper hit his team-leading 11th home run, and the Phillies again got contributions from up and down the lineup.
They'll face off again on Wednesday evening with the Phillies looking to put even more distance between themselves and the Atlanta Braves in the NL East. With the Braves' loss on Tuesday, Philadelphia now sits 6.0 games up in the division. A win on Wednesday would secure the best 50-game start in franchise history.

- Taijuan Walker (3-0) will take the ball for the Phillies today. He has a 4.91 ERA and 1.41 WHIP through four starts this season, although his last outing was abbreviated. After winning his first three starts, he picked up a no decision after taking a comebacker off his foot in the fourth inning against the Mets last week.
- Right-hander Dane Dunning (3-2) will start for the Rangers. The 29-year-old has made seven starts and carries a 4.10 ERA and 1.15 WHIP into Wednesday's action. He has given up multiple runs in all but two outings but has 43 strikeouts in 37 1/3 innings.
