The Philadelphia Phillies (62-34) get the second half underway on the road tonight as they visit the Pittsburgh Pirates (48-48) to open a three-game weekend series at PNC Park.

The Phillies went into the All-Star break as the best team in baseball, which explains why they sent six of the eight players selected to participate in the All-Star Game. They are one of only two teams with a run differential over 100, at +110. Despite going 5-5 in the final 10 games of the first half, they maintained an 8.5-game lead over the Atlanta Braves in the division.

The state-rival Pirates finished the first half on a four-game winning streak and are 7-3 in their last 10 games. They sit 6.5 back in the NL Central but just 1.5 out of a Wild Card spot. These two teams split their four-game series in April at Citizens Bank Park.
