The Phillies (85-69) made it difficult for themselves versus the Mets Friday night, as they gave up a two-run lead late and saw their game go to extra innings. Ultimately though they won 5-4, thanks to Alec Bohm's walkoff single in the 10th. This resulted in the Phillies strengthening their hold on the top NL wild card spot to 4.0 games, with just eight to play. Now they'll look to secure the Mets series with a game to spare on Saturday afternoon.

Probable starting pitchers

  • Zack Wheeler (12-6) showed what he's all about in his last start, allowing just three hits, two walks and one run in 6.0 innings versus the Braves. He also proved his ability to bounce back, after pitching poorly against the same opponent in his prior outing. On the season, Wheeler has produced a 3.63 ERA, 3.22 FIP and 1.066 WHIP in 30 appearances. For the Phillies specifically, he leads all pitchers with 20 quality starts and a 4.3 WAR.
  • After signing a two-year deal during the offseason, José Quintana (3-5) didn't make his Major League debut for the Mets until July due to a rib injury. Since then however he's pitched well, only twice allowing more than two earned runs in 11 starts. As a whole, Quintana has produced a 3.02 ERA, 3.38 FIP and 1.279 WHIP. Last time out he gave up eight hits, one walk and two runs in 6.2 innings against the Reds.
