The Philadelphia Phillies (88-59) will look to bounce back on Saturday after they didn't open their series with the New York Mets (81-66) how they had planned, getting pummeled to the tune of 11-3. The loss shrunk their lead in the NL East to 7.0 games, and with the Atlanta Braves also winning, their magic number to clinch both the division and a postseason berth stalled out for the evening.

Starter Aaron Nola got lit up in the fifth, giving up a pair of three-run home runs that broke a scoreless tie wide open in a hurry. He lasted just 4 1/3 innings, finishing with a line of six earned runs on six hits despite striking out seven.

The Phillies offense looked anemic, managing just three hits in seven innings against Mets starter Jose Quintana. They put their three runs on the board in the ninth with a Brandon Marsh three-run homer. But it was way too little, way too late.
