The Philadelphia Phillies (88-58) are ready to host the New York Mets (80-66) for a big three-game series that kicks off on Friday at Citizens Bank Park. The NL East rivals play seven games over the next 10 days, with huge postseason implications.

The Phillies are coming off a sweep of the Tampa Bay Rays and hold an 8.0-game lead over the Mets, who have overtaken the Atlanta Braves heading into the weekend. The Mets are coming off a series win in Toronto and are 8-2 in their last 10. Both teams come into this series with an 18-8 record since Aug. 14.

The good news for the Phillies is that designated hitter Kyle Schwarber (elbow) and catcher J.T. Realmuto (knee) are back in the lineup. The bad news is that outfielder Austin Hays (kidney infection) and third baseman Alec Bohm (left hand strain) remain sidelined even though they're both technically eligible to come off the 10-day IL.
