The Philadelphia Phillies (90-60) will look to bounce back after dropping the opener on Monday as they resume their three-game series with the Milwaukee Brewers (87-63) on Tuesday at American Family Field. The remaining games with the NL Central-leading Brewers hold major playoff implications for the Phillies, and picking up at least one win in Milwaukee is imperative.

Phillies starter Ranger Suárez had another uninspiring start in the 6-2 loss. He went five innings, giving up three runs on four hits with five strikeouts, but the big issue was that he issued three walks and used 104 pitches in the laborious outing. He looks far from the pitcher who dominated the first half of the season.

Unfortunately, the bats didn't offer much help, either. The offense managed 11 hits (more than Milwaukee's eight) but went 1-for-9 with runners in scoring position and left seven runners on base.

The Phillies could be in the unenviable position of watching the Brewers celebrate their division clinch tonight if they don't pull off a win. The Brew Crew's magic number is down to two heading into Tuesday's action. A Brewers' win and a Cubs' loss will seal the deal.
