The Philadelphia Phillies (85-57) finish up their six-game road trip with the series finale against the Miami Marlins (53-89) on Sunday. The Phillies are looking to win the series after taking two of the first three games against the NL East basement-dwelling fish.

Starter Aaron Nola didn’t have his best stuff in Saturday's 9-5 loss. He used 101 pitches to get through 4 2/3 innings, giving up five runs (four earned) on nine hits while walking two and striking out five. José Ruiz, Tanner Banks and Taijuan Walker combined to throw 3 1/3 innings, with Walker allowing the Marlins to score three runs (two earned) in three hits and two walks.

Marlins starter Darren McCaughan held the Phillies’ bats in check over 4 2/3 innings, allowing three runs (two earned) on six hits with four strikeouts. The Phils managed 11 hits a day after setting a season-high with 22.

Around the rest of the NL East, the New York Mets won their ninth straight, leapfrogging the Atlanta Braves, who lost 9-5 to the Toronto Blue Jays. The Mets trail the Phillies by 7.0 games and now hold the final NL Wild Card spot, while the Braves are on the outside looking in heading into Sunday's action. The Phillies' magic number to clinch a playoff berth shrunk to 13 with the Braves' loss, while their magic number to clinch the NL East remained at 14.
