The Philadelphia Phillies (78-54) and Houston Astros (70-62) will wrap up their three-game series late Wednesday afternoon at Citizens Bank Park. After taking the first two games, the Phillies are going for the sweep against the AL West division leaders and former World Series foes.
Tuesday's 5-0 win was keyed by Aaron Nola's seven shutout innings and Nick Castellanos' no-doubt three-run home run in the fourth inning. Nola scattered four hits and one walk while striking out six in the winning effort to pick up his 12th victory of the season. Castellanos' home run was his 18th of the season, and he's now hitting .305 and slugging .508 over his last 15 games.
Now the Phillies turn their attention to Wednesday's finale and the potential for a series sweep. Unfortunately, most won't be giving them much of a chance to secure their fifth straight win with Taijuan Walker taking the mound. The struggling starter has come under intense scrutiny recently, with many wondering what the Phillies will do with the veteran if he doesn't turn things around in a hurry.
