The Philadelphia Phillies (93-65) play their final home game of the 2024 regular season tonight as they close out their three-game series with the Chicago Cubs (81-77). Despite already having clinched the NL East on Monday, the Phillies still have something to play for, with a first-round bye still up for grabs.

They missed an opportunity on Tuesday to get one step closer to avoiding the Wild Card Series. After celebrating on Monday night, they dropped the "hangover game" 10-4 to the Cubbies. Their magic number to secure one of the top two seeds in the NL sits at two after the Milwaukee Brewers picked up a win yesterday. The Phillies head into action today just 2.5 games up on the NL Central champions.

Tuesday's loss also stopped the Phillies from leapfrogging the Los Angeles Dodgers at the top of the NL standings, and they remain 0.5 games back of the No. 1 seed.
