Philadelphia Phillies probable pitchers & starting lineups vs. Atlanta Braves, September 1
The lineups are set as the Phillies go for the series win against the Braves on Sunday Night Baseball.
The Philadelphia Phillies (80-56) will try to win the series against the Atlanta Braves (74-62) when the NL East rivals finish up their four-game set on Sunday Night Baseball. The Phillies have taken two of the first three games, extending their division lead to 6.0 heading into Sunday's tilt.
Ace Zack Wheeler picked up his 100th career win on Saturday night, shutting down the Atlanta bats for seven innings, allowing just four hits while punching out seven in the Phillies' 3-0 win. He was backed by a pair of Phillies solo home runs from Edmundo Sosa and Trea Turner, including this monster 450-foot blast by Sosa. The third baseman also added an RBI double in the seventh to give the bullpen a little extra cushion.
With September rosters expanding, the Phillies have a couple of new faces, Tyler Phillips and Kody Clemens, joining them for the series finale. They also reinstated Jose Alvarado from the restricted list after Saturday's game.
