After taking Friday's series opener 8-6 on Apple TV+, the Philadelphia Phillies (58-30) look for the series win over the Atlanta Braves (47-39) on Saturday at Truist Park. The Phillies enter play today 10.0 games up in the NL East and can't leave Atlanta with a lead of less than 8.0 games at this point.

Starter Aaron Nola held the Braves to five hits over six innings, allowing a pair of home runs that accounted for the Braves' three runs against him. He struck out eight and walked two. Trea Turner powered the Phillies offense again. He mashed a pair of home runs off Braves starter Max Fried, both of the two-run variety, driving in four in the game. One homer traveled 459 feet, the longest of his career.

Orion Kerkering pitched a clean seventh before Jose Alvarado ran into trouble in the eighth. The lefty allowed a three-run home run to Marcell Ozuna to give the Braves some hope, but Jeff Hoffman shut the door in the ninth for his eighth save.

The right-hander brings a 9.09 K/9 and 2.56 BB/9 into this game. Schwellenbach has allowed four home runs, with two coming in his last outing against the Pirates when he gave up four runs on five hits while striking out seven in five innings.
